It looks like the macOS UI framework simply doesn't report caps lock like a normal key you can't tell when it's released - is that what you're also dealing with?įor now, in beebjit, I just used Mac left shift as the beeb caps lock and the Mac right shift for beeb left shift. I'm mostly done porting beebjit to macOS and I also crashed headlong into caps lock issues. (The fix does work with Big Sur, but you do need to go into the system preferences and give b2 some extra input monitoring permissions so it can spy on your caps lock presses! It would be great if this could be optional.) Interesting that it works for you on Big Sur without the fix - I had this problem on Catalina, but I've got Big Sur now, so maybe I should try without again. I'll get this sorted out in the next day or two, and there'll be (and about time too.) a December 2021 version with the caps lock fix in it.

Regarding caps lock: I did add some code to fix this, back in April in fact, but it looks like I forgot the key step of getting a new GitHub release made So you're not doing anything wrong the current latest GitHub release just doesn't have working caps lock on newer versions of macOS. If you select the second keyboard option "Default (caps/ctrl)" then the left ctrl key acts as capslock, and all is well on Mojave, however. There's a brief discussion on github about it, not sure what I'm doing wrong here. If I run b2 on Big Sur, it's fine, though.
